Michael D. Henry's Obituary
Michael D. Henry of Bear, DE passed away August 11, 2024 at Delaware Hospice at Saint Francis. He was 57.
He was raised in Greenwood, DE and attended the Greenwood Mennonite School and Woodbridge High School. Mike played baseball, track and football during his school years. He was a lifelong Yankees fan. Mike joined the United States Air Force in 1986 and made his career as a Security Force Specialist. He retired from the Delaware Air National Guard with the rank of Master Sergeant in 2014, giving him 28 years of faithful service to his country. During that time, he served in several different locations and earned many different medals and ribbons. He was proud of his service and enjoyed his time with the Air Force.
Mike is survived by three daughters: Talia Pyle (David) of Bear, DE, Alexi Henry of Newark, DE and Claudia Henry of Bear, DE; grandchildren: David Pyle and Layla Pyle; his mother Brenda Henry of Seaford, DE; his father David Henry (Beverly) of Seaford, DE; sisters Trisha Herglotz (Harold) of Cottondale, AL, Carol Warrington (Kenny) of Millsboro, DE, and Beth Charnick of Bridgeville, DE; six nephews, one great-nephew and one great-niece. Many other life long friends and family members will miss his quick wit and sense of humor.
There will be a chapel service at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, DE. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in memory of Mike to Delaware Hospice at 630 Churchman's Road, Suite 200, Newark, DE 19702
