Nancy Lee (Birmingham) Schnaitman's Obituary
Nancy Birmingham Schnaitman of St. Michaels died at her home on November 5 after a long battle with progressive supranuclear palsy. She was 81. Born April 28, 1933, in Tilghman she was the daughter of Charles Harrison Birmingham and Margaret Frampton Birmingham. She attended Talbot County schools and graduated from St. Michaels High School in 1950. Following graduation she went to work at St Michaels Bank where she remained a loyal and dedicated employee for 40-plus years. In 1951, she married John Schnaitman, Jr Nancy was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, fishing in the Miles River with her husband, and cooking. During her retirement she volunteered at Talbot Hospice Foundation helping patients. Nancy is survived by her husband of 63 years, John Schnaitman,Jr., three sons, Thomas (Holly) , Gary and Jack (Penny); three granddaughters , Rachel, Maggie, and Jennifer; four great-grandchildren, Isabel, Olivia, Ethan and Jonathan; a sister Jackie Tarr(Buster); two nieces, Patsy Bridges(George) and Donna Fox; and a nephew Chuck Tarr(Tammy). She was preceded in death by a sister Mildred Ross. Services will be held at 2p.m. on Saturday, November 22 at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church St. Michaels, MD. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Talbot Hospice Foundation, 586 Cynwood Drive, Easton, MD 21601. Arrangements are by the Ostrowski Funeral Home, St. Michaels.
