Nancy Lynn Thomas' Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Nancy L Thomas, who left us very unexpectedly on Sunday, January 5th, at the age of 65. Nancy was born on January 27, 1960 in Bellevue, Pennsylvania, beloved daughter of Robert E. and Mary Ann Thomas. She was treasured by her siblings, partners, guests, and friends, including the ones who she just met.
Raised in Pittsburgh, a true-blue Steelers fan, and lover of all things Pittsburgh; Heinz Ketchup, Primanti Brothers, good kielbasa, Iron City beer and all things black & gold. Nancy was known for her sense of humor, her fierce independence, her love of animals, and most of all, her kindness. She attended Duff's Business Institute, where she obtained an Associate Degree in Business Management. She went on to work for CIT Financial and Bell Federal Savings and Loan.
In 1987 Nancy moved to Dallas, Texas, where she worked with her family, Wallace Doolin & Joni Thomas Doolin in diverse and progressively more responsible roles including Recruiting, Administration, Cash Management, Business Development and Event Management. Ultimately the businesses she helped build grew into Black Box Intelligence, a thriving technology and data analytics company that serves the hospitality industry.
In 2022, Nancy headed to Saint Michaels, Maryland, to join the rest of her family, and to help found Eastern Shore Ship Print Connect, with her stated goal of bringing hospitality to the shipping and printing business. She did exactly that, establishing the business as the spot on the shore where you could ship, print and bring your dogs!
Nancy is survived by her siblings Robert H. Thomas (Rose), William R. Thomas (Diane), Joni Thomas Doolin (Wallace). Nieces Katelyn Thomas (Jesse), Zoe Thomas, and Nephew Michael Thomas (Lauren). Extended family Angie Doolin, Melissa Doolin-Kohene, Shannon Meyers and countless friends.
She will be deeply missed. A memorial service will be held at Christ Church (Episcopal) in St. Michaels on Saturday, January 17, at 11:00 am. A reception will follow in Etherton Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in her honor to Talbot Humane Society. talbothumane.org
Arrangements are entrusted to the Framptom Funeral Home-Ostrowski Chapel of St. Michaels.
