Norma Wieand's Obituary
Norma Wieand passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center in Easton, Maryland. She was 81.
She was born on June 23, 1935 in Nanticoke, PA the daughter of the late Howard Balliet and Hilda Eckelston Balliet
She graduated from Dundalk High School. After graduation, she married Charles Wieand on April 10, 1954. Later, they moved to St. Michaels. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church where she served on the alter guild, as well as a docent for visitors. She also volunteered at the Chesapeake Maritime Museum and also enjoyed trips to Williamsburg, VA and Chincoteague, VA.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Wieand of St. Michaels, two daughters Sandy Wieand of Easton, and Carla Lake and her husband George of Dundalk; three grandchildren, Madison Lake of Dundalk, Shawn Clark and his wife, Yolanda of Royal Oak and Erin Clark of Easton; four great-grandchildren, Diedra, Lorli, Walter and Kayli; and one brother, Ronald Balliet of Arkansas. She was preceded in death by two brothers, James Balliet and Robert Balliet.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 13, 2017 at 11:00 at Christ Episcopal Church in St. Michaels with the Reverend Paul Winters officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening at the Ostrowski Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00.
