Norman Edward Bennett Sr.'s Obituary
Norman Edward Bennett, Sr., of Federalsburg passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Easton Memorial Hospital in Easton, Maryland. He was 90.
He was born on April 5, 1924 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of the late James Bennett and Helen Connelly Bennett.
He was married on December 24, 1946 to Louise Nichols Bennett. She preceded him in death on March 2, 2003.
He was a driver for Preston Trucking Company and retired in 1995 after 45 years of service. He enjoyed walking, traveling, was a member of the Teamsters Union, and the widow’s support group. He loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by three sons, Norman E. Bennett, Jr. of Felton, DE, Bruce W. Bennett, Sr. and his wife, Lisa of Seaford, DE, Warren K. Bennett, Sr. and his wife Claire of Sugarloaf, PA, a daughter, Laura A. Colburn and her husband Christopher of Felton,DE, 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; four siblings; Betty Roden of Galestown, MD, Robert Bennett of Laurel, DE, Kenneth Bennett of Delmar, DE, and Lawrence Bennett and his wife, Mary of Whitemarsh, MD.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Eleanor Murphy, a grand-daughter, Aimee Bennett, and four brothers, Jerry Bennett, James Bennett, Thomas Bennett and Walter Bennett.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 1:00 at the Framptom Funeral Home with Reverend Denzil Cheek officiating. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 1:00.
