Norman H. Cohee's Obituary
Norman H. Cohee of Sebring, FL, formerly of Williamsburg, Maryland passed away on Monday, January 17, 2011 at Florida Hospital Heartland Medical Center in Sebring. He was 82 years old.
He was born June 24, 1928 in Hurlock, Maryland, the son of the late Gilbert Cohee and Olevia Lankford Cohee.
He had worked for E.I. Dupont for over thirty-five years as an engineer. He served his country during the Korean War Era in the United States Army being stationed in Germany. He was a sergeant in the Army Reserves serving eleven and a half years. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #243 in Hurlock and a member of Unity-Washington Methodist Church in Hurlock.
Norman is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Bessie Travers Cohee, his children, Wayne Travers and his wife, Janet of Brownsville, TX, Nancy Brummett and her husband, Clyde of Pineville, KY, four grandchildren, Carrie Brummett, Brian Brummett, Sr. and his wife, Melissa, Christy Shelby and her husband, Bucky all of Pineville, KY, Stephanie Travers of Sebring, FL, three great-grandchildren, Sean Shelby, Amanda Brummett, Bryan Brummett, Jr., three sisters, Lucille Slacum of Seaford, Josephine Mills of Federalsburg, Joyce McWilliams of East New Market, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Cohee and a great-granddaughter, Kayla Mosley.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 24, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Unity-Washington United Methodist Church in Hurlock with Deacon Wendell Travers and Rev. Bonnie Shively officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park in Cambridge. Friends may call at the Framptom Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. with an American Legion Service starting at 8 p.m. and visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Serving as pallbearers will be Wendell Travers, Brian Brummett, Sr., Bucky Shelby, Wesley Cohee, Donald McWilliams, and Timothy Mills.
