Norris Gray Colona's Obituary
Norris Gray Colona of Federalsburg passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was 89.
He was born on October 11, 1932 in Hopeton, VA, the son of the late Herbert Lilliston Colona and Margaret Betty Gray Colona.
He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. He returned home and married Betty Jo Matthews Colona on August 10, 1956.
He worked as an exterminator for most of his life for Hygenic Extermination Company and later retired from Terminix after 20 years of faithful service.
In his free time, he enjoyed everything outdoors. He loved to grow a garden and share his harvest with his family and friends. He also loved flowers, mowing the grass until dusk, and was a big believer in Gorilla Glue to fix anything. He attended Park Lane Church of God in Federalsburg and loved to spend time with his wife, family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Colona of Federalsburg. a son, Norris Keith Colona of Federalsburg and his wife Deena, two grandsons: Chris Smullen and his wife Debra of Seaford; and Nicholas Colona; two great-grandchildren: Adrianah Smullen and Brantley Ray; a sister: Regina Taylor of Easton; and two cousins: Annabelle Ross of Assawoman, VA and Louis Justis of Parksley, VA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Starr Widdowson.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 1:00 at Park Lane Church of God in Federalsburg with the Bishop Ray Parsons officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 1:00 at Liberty Cemetery in Parksley, VA.
