Norval Roland Buck's Obituary
Norval Roland Buck of Preston, MD died at University of Marylands Shock Trauma on Saturday, September 11, 2010. He was 58.
He was born in Baltimore, MD on July 14, 1952 the son of Mildred League Buck Tolodziecki of Seaford, DE and the late Steven Buck.
He was a graduate of Glen Burnie High School and entered the U S Navy serving in North Vietnam aboard the USS Newport News (CA 148) in 1972, as a Forward Lookout Observer Naval Artillary, where he received the Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnam Service Ribbon, Vietnam Campaign Meal and Navy Unit Commendation. He was honorably discharged in November of 1973, as an E-3.
He worked for the Bay Bridge Maintenance Crew for 10 years as a High-Steel Rigger, and then worked for Wireless Communications at the Anne Arundel 911 Communications Center for 10 years.
He was a member of the USS Newport News Alumni Association, the American Legion Post 243 in Hurlock where he was also a charter member of the American Legion Riders, the VFW Post 5246 in Federalsburg, and Elks Lodge # 2458 in Seaford, DE.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Karen Lewis Buck of Preston, a son, John Norval Haskel Buck of Romney, WVA, a daughter, Robin Juanita Star Buck of Hanalei, HA, a step-son, Jimmy Tays Hall of Jacksonville, FL, a step-daughter, Abigail Lisa Marie Ingram of Glen Burnie, MD, a grandson, John Norval Haskel Buck, II, a granddaughter, Tailor Bennett, two brothers, Steven Buck of Salem, CT and Robert Buck of Glen Burnie, MD, and uncle Arthur League of Seaford, DE and several nieces and nephews. Two uncles, Richard League and Thomas League preceded him in death.
Funeral services for him will be held on Friday, September 17, 2010 at 1;00 p.m. at Framptom Funeral Home, P.A. in Federalsburg with military honors by American Legion Post 243. Friends may visit with family and friends prior to services, at the funeral home on Friday from 11-1:00.
A reception will follow, immediately after services, at American Legion Post 243, in Hurlock, Maryland.
