Ola Dawson Murphy's Obituary
Ola Dawson “Murph” Murphy of Hurlock, MD passed away on Monday, Nov. 29, 2010 at Genesis HealthCare-The Pines in Easton, MD. He was 85.
He was born Oct. 3, 1925 in Little Washington, NC, the son of the late Charles and Louise Banner Murphy.
He proudly served his county in the United States Army during WW II, where he served and often spoke of the events in the Pacific, Philippines and in Scotland. He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars in Miami, FL. He was a retired supervisor of the Miller Beer Beverage Distributor of Miami. His hobbies included working in the yard, caring for flowers and fruit trees, and watching football and golf. He
attended the Federalsburg Senior Center.
He is survived by his wife of over thirty years, Dorothy S. Konarski Murphy, three children Patrick Murphy (Mary) of Cooper City, FL, Rosemary Elliott (Robert) of Ashville, NC, and Wendy Lovall of Georgia; two step-children, Leonard F. Treat (Sara) of Bloomsburg, PA, and Sylvia J.
Stetz (Steven) of Kent Island, MD; five grandchildren Jennifer, Colleen, Tammy, Tracy, and Mikie; two step-grandchildren Leonard, II and Joey;
two great-granddaughters, Morgan Gei and Harla Quinn; one step-great-
granddaughter Caley Mia, best friend Tom Romanic of Miami, and a host of other relatives. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Christine S. Murphy, and two brothers, Joe Murphy and Wayne Murphy.
