Oliver Henry Noyes' Obituary
Oliver Henry Noyes
Born in Easton on February 13, 1986, Oliver was the quintessential Eastern Shoreman.
He grew up in Claiborne and, as a young boy, enjoyed sitting at the edge of the field watching tractors.
This sparked a lifetime love of farming and agriculture, which turned into a passion
during and after high school.
Oliver spent his childhood sailing on the log canoe "Magic", his family's boat "Planxty" and later
spent Saturdays on his Boston Whaler. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. From sun up to sun down Oliver
was outside working or playing. On a rainy day, you would find him playing classic rock on his vintage drumset.
Oliver joined the St Michaels Fire Department the day he turned 16. He was very proud to be
recognized as both "Rookie of the Year" in 2002 and "Firefighter of the Year" in 2005. He was honored to help people.
He was full of drive, determination, respect, and worked hard for everything he had.
Oliver worked for Friel's Cannery as a field scout;
drove trucks for Mid-Atlantic Transport where he was able to utilize his CDL; led hunting parties at Native Shore Hunting Preserve; performed custom applicating for Webb Dulin and Growmark FS.
He also enjoyed helping many local farmers.
When Oliver was diagnosed in April with a rare and aggressive cancer,
he stayed steadfast throughout his illness. He was tough but always polite, and remained
hopeful. Many good friends came together for various fundraising events to aid in Oliver's fight, a testament to how many
lives he touched. Oliver passed with the grace and bravery that he
demonstrated throughout his twenty-five years. He will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
Oliver is survived by his mother, Christine Seibert Noyes of Claiborne; father Henry Fite Noyes, Jr. and his wife Robin Shehan of Loxahatchee Groves, Florida; his sister,
Audrey Noyes of St. Michaels; his brother Avery Noyes of Claiborne, and devoted friend Holly Hayman of Greensboro.
Oliver is also survived by grandparents Edward and Barbara Seibert of Easton; his grandmother Mary Pearce and her husband Bill of Parkville.
He was also blessed with many aunts and uncles; Teresa McGuire and her husband Robert of Westminister, Paul Seibert and his wife Gina of Smyrna, DE,
Thomas Seibert of Holiday, FL, Daniel Seibert of Joppatowne, Susie Seibert Rising of Joppatowne and David Hobbs of Parkville.
Oliver shared a special bond with all of his cousins; Amanda McGuire, Catherine Johannesen and her husband Michael and children Megan and Nathan;
Christopher McGuire and his wife Dionne and daughter Sarah; Timothy Seibert, Jonathan Seibert, CJ Oechsle, Maura Seibert, Cecilia Rising, Joachim Rising, and Mark Rising.
He was preceded in death by his beloved Pop Pop Henry Fite Noyes, Sr, and his aunts Marcia Noyes and Mary Seibert Hobbs.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Christ Episcopal Church in St. Michaels, MD. A reception will be held in Etherton Hall following the service.
