Palmer B. Hutchison
Easton, Palmer Barry Hutchison, 72, of Easton, passed away at Genesis Health Care on Saturday, February 2, 2013. Born on January 6, 1941 in Ridgely, MD to the late Leo Barry & Dorothy Elizabeth Palmer Hutchison. Mr. Hutchison attended elementary school in Stevensville, MD and then Cordova, MD; when his family moved to a farm there. He then attended high school in Easton, MD until leaving to help his father on the farm. He and his father farmed in Cordova as well as doing carpentry work on the western shore. After marrying the love of his life, Darlene Faye Williams on April 2, 1960 they settled outside of Easton on “Oakland Farm” along with his parents, where they worked side by side on the farm with his beloved “Massey Fergusons”, sharing 52 years together and raising a family. They milked cows for a time, later changing to chicken farming as well as field crops. Palmer was a member of Fairview Church of the Brethren in Cordova, MD; as well as various local organizations through the years. Mr. Hutchison will always be remembered for his gift of conversation. He never met a stranger and he always had a life story or lesson to share with his children and later his grandchildren. He loved to talk about Kent Island and share stories told to him by his mother. His wisdom will be missed by us all. He is survived by wife Darlene, his children; Barry Hutchison and wife Debbie, Paul Hutchison and wife Amy, Lisa Marvel and husband Bruce, and Alan Hutchison and wife Ramona. A sister and brother in law, Peggy Ann & Bobby Milligan of Laurel, DE, very special in-laws John & Dottie Williams and Howard & Barbara Blizzard, all of Cordova; 14 Grandchildren; Darcy Hutchison, Darin Hutchison and wife Becky, Dean Hutchison, Paul Hutchison Jr., Ethan Hutchison, Jacob Hutchison, Lane Hutchison, Ashley Cannon and husband Ben, Brittany Marvel, Drew Marvel, Alan Hutchison Jr., Cody Hutchison, Adrianna Hutchison, and Justin Hutchison, and 3 Great Grandchildren; Abbigail Hutchison, Lily Hutchison, and Brantley Hutchison. A celebration of his life will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, February, 6, 2013 at Fairview Church of the Brethren in Cordova, MD where a visitation will be held from 11:00am to 12:00pm. Burial will follow at Fairview Church cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Palmers memory to Fairview Church food pantry at 11243 Chapel Road, Cordova, MD 21625 or to Talbot Agricultural Center at 10659 Hiners Lane, Easton, MD 21601. Arrangements are by the Ostrowski Funeral Home, St. Michaels, MD.
