Parthenia Lorraine Goslee's Obituary
Parthenia Lorriane Thomas Goslee, known fondly as “Partie” of Thompsontown, MD, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2013 at Dorchester General Hospital in Cambridge. She was 81.
She was born on August 6, 1932 in Thompsontown, the daughter of the late John Arthur Johnson and Elizabeth Ann Thomas Jackson.
She was a graduate of F.D. St.Clair School in Cambridge Class of 1949. She worked at the Cambridge Walmart as a greeter for 12 years. She was a seamstress, loved to shop, was a collector of ink pens, hats, purses, jewelry and shoes, baked cakes for every occasion, and organized shopping trips with her church. She was a member of Faith Community Church in East New Market which merged with Thompsontown Chapel where she served on the choir, was a church trustee, a member of the United Methodist Women, Women in White, a greeter-usher, and served on the finance board.
She is survived by her nieces, Regina Thomas of Cambridge, Vivian Thomas and Lorna Thomas both of Thompsontown, and DeShirl Rankins of Salisbury, a nephew, Purcell Rankins o
f Salisbury, two devoted cousins, Delia Alston of Hampton, VA who was like her little sister, Mary Evelyn Dennard-Turner of East New Market, a god-daughter, Doreen Johnson of Vienna. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert Thomas & Jim "Button" Johnson, a sister, Alberta Scott, and a nephew, Jeffrey Thomas.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 25, 2013 at Faith Community Church in East New Market at 1 p.m. with Rev. Beverly Holland officiating. Interment will follow at Thompsontown Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Sunday from 4-6 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
