Pastor Betty Treherne's Obituary
Pastor Betty Jane Treherne of Laurel, DE departed this earth on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family and friends. She was 65 years old.
She was born April 26, 1946 in Laurel, DE daughter of Sara Elizabeth Roberts and the late William Roberts. Her husband of thirty years, Bishop Amos Treherne, Jr. preceded her in death on July 24, 2011.
She was educated in the Laurel Public School. She served as Pastor at Pentecostal House of Prayer under the late Bishop Amos Treherne, Jr. until her death. She was employed at Perdue for several years until her retirement. After retiring she enjoyed shopping, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends whom she loved dearly.
She is survived by her mother, Sarah Roberts of Laurel, two sons, Leon Treherne (Debbie) of Georgetown, DE, Ritchie Camper (Jennifer) of Laurel, DE, three daughters, Ethel Horsey of Manatee, FL, Betty Luke (John) of Smyrna, DE, LaKisha Ennis (Eston) of Laurel, DE, 16 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, five sisters, Clairann Horsey of Laurel, DE, Helena Richards (Earl) of Seaford, DE, Mary West (Roscoe) of Laurel, DE, Dolly Pitts (Jessie) of Seaford, DE, Linda Abshur (Rick) of Laurel, DE, two aunts, Retta Oney and Reba Gaines of Laurel, DE, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Besides her husband and father, she was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Camper, two brothers, Herman & Bruce Roberts, and two sisters, Lillie Roberts and Reva Roberts.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 1:00 at the United Deliverance Bible Center in Laurel, DE, with Bishop John Mosley officiating. Friends may call at the church from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. on Tuesday. Interment will follow at St. Matthews Church Cemetery.
