Paul Gilbert Faulkner's Obituary
Paul Faulkner of Preston, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026, following a year-long struggle after a stroke. He was 88 years old.
Paul was one of eleven children born to William Nathaniel Faulkner and Bessie Wooters Faulkner. He was educated in Caroline County Schools. In 1966, he married Ruth Ann Green, and together they shared 57 years of marriage.
A hardworking and devoted provider, Paul spent many years working multiple jobs to care for his family. In his younger years, he was employed by St. Michaels Gas and Oil and held various part time positions, including cleaning local restaurants, bartending at the Blue Lantern, pumping gas at the Citgo in Easton, and working at Lowe's. Paul ultimately retired in 2019 after 39 years of dedicated service at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery- Beulah.
In his spare time, Paul could almost always be found on his lawnmower, cutting his grass multiple times a week- and when that wasn't enough, the neighbors' lawns as well. He enjoyed tending to his garden and riding around on his tractor. He was known for coming home with a new expensive piece of equipment frequently. Above all else, Paul loved his family. He loved his children deeply, and his greatest joy in life was his grandchildren. They truly were his whole world.
Paul is preceded in death by nine of his siblings; his wife Ruth Ann; and his son, Randy Faulkner.
He is survived by his sister Bessie (Kitty) Faulkner of Marydel, two daughters Roxanne (Dave) Walls of Ridgely and Jennifer Hall of Preston; six grandchildren, Anthony Casey, Dewy Walls, Alexis Morton, Clifton (CJ) Morton- affectionately known by him as "Scooter", Alaina Hall and Kennedy Hall; and three great grandchildren, Nolan, Keegan and his pride and joy Alani Ruth. He is survived by his close friend, neighbor, and honorary son, Bill Thompkins. In addition, he is survived by several nieces and a host of loving "adopted grandchildren" who all referred to him as Pop.
A celebration of life will be held on January 31, 2026, at 1:00pm at the Federalsburg VFW. We hope you will join us and share a story or two.
