Paul D. Watts, Sr.
St. Michaels: Paul Densmore Watts, Sr. of St. Michaels, died at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, on Wednesday, September 28, 2011. He was 74.
Born on Tilghman Island on September 6, 1937 he was the son of the late Marion C. Watts, Sr. and Altha L. George Watts. A lifelong resident of Talbot Co. the family moved to St. Michaels, where, Paul attended public school. In 1954 he enlisted in the Navy. Following his release from duty he worked for a few years as a waterman. In 1958 he began working as a Supervisor for the Grayblock Ribbon Factory in Easton, until 1970. In 1972, he followed in the footsteps of his father, and became a Master Barber, working in the Easton area. Paul will be remembered as a loving Husband, father, and family man.
Paul is survived by his wife of 53 years, Gloria J. Watts, who he married on August 22, 1958, in addition; he survived by four children; Lori Whitehead, of St. Michaels, David Watts, Four Oaks, N.C; Richard Watts, and Elizabeth Tetterton, both of Clayton, N.C. two brothers Marion “Buster†Watts, Jr. Cambridge and John “Jack†Watts St. Michaels, two sisters; Betty Rose Robinson St. Michaels and Faye Phillips Claiborne; 17 grandchildren, 7 Great- Grandchildren with one on the way. Also his good friends Chuck Shelby, Gary Wilkinson and Andrew Bailey. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two son’s Richard M. Watts and Paul D. Watts, Jr. a sister Altha V.†Ginger†Watts, and his lifelong friend Charles Lednum.
Funeral services will be held at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, St. Michaels, on Monday October 3, 2011 at 12:00 Noon, where a viewing will be held from 10:00AM until Noon.
Burial will be in Olivet Cemetery, St. Michaels.
