Pauline Gray Callaway's Obituary
Pauline Gray Callaway, 81, of Bridgeville, passed away on March 20, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on January 25, 1932, in Bridgeville, the daughter of the late J. Frank Gray and Lillie M. Gray. She was the wife of Charles C. Callaway.
Pauline was an active member of the Bethel United Methodist Church, Oak Grove, Seaford, DE, and served on many committees. She taught Sunday school for the Young Adult Class for many years and also sang in the Bethel Church Choir.
Pauline was a member of the Bethel Community House, Inc. and had served as Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer. She was also a director of the Bethel Cemetery Association, Inc. and had been past Secretary and Treasurer of that organization. She was an employee of Maryland National Bank, Federalsburg, MD from 1959 to 1972.
She enjoyed family gatherings, crab feasts, crossword puzzles, baseball, watching wildlife, and animals of all types.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter Kathryn C. McCumbers, three sisters, Irene B. Willey, Thelma G. O’Bier, Eleanor G. Sirman, and one brother, John Franklin Gray, Jr.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Charles C. Callaway, son Clifford C. Callaway, son-in-law Michael D. McCumbers, brother-in-law Norris E. Willey and wife Anne, brother-in-law William F. Callaway and his wife Anne, sister-in-law, Margaret Kennedy, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Framptom Funeral Home, Federalsburg, MD with the Reverend Charles Kind officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery, Oak Grove, DE. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 prior to the service.
