Pauline V. Copper
St. Michaels, Pauline Virginia Copper of St. Michaels, died at the Envoy of Denton Nursing Care, on Sunday, March 31, 2013. She was 79. Born in Somerset Co. Maryland on July 6, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Eunice Wilson Whittington. After graduating from Somerset Co. public Schools she moved to Talbot Co, where she enrolled in the Timshell school of Beauty in Easton. After successfully completing her education, she opened her own Salon, Pauline’s Beauty Shop on Port St. in Easton. She continued to operate her beauty shop until the mid-1970’s when she and her husband Leon Copper whom she married on May 20, 1972 moved to St. Michaels. There she took a position as Restaurant Manager for the Cove Restaurant owned by Dr. and Mrs. Don Young. She remained there until she retired. Mr. Copper died in 2001. St. Michaels was always in her heart, she was a member of the Union United Methodist Church in St. Michaels, as well as serving with the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Copper is survived by her three siblings; Mary E. Wood of Willingboro, N.J., Raymond L. Whittington of St. Michaels, and Lorraine W. Norman of Carolina Shores, N.C. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, and beloved husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Elizabeth Fields. A funeral service will be held at the Union United Methodist Church, St. Michaels, on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 11:00AM where friends may visit from 10:00 to 11:00. Burial will be in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Eastern-shore, Hurlock, MD. Memorial donations may be made to the United Methodist Women C/o Rev. Emmanuel & Mrs. Johnson P.O.
