Peggy D. Cox
McDaniel, Peggy D. Cox, 64, loving wife of Gordon Gould, passed away October 17, 2012 at the Memorial Hospital, Easton of multiple sclerosis. She was 64. Born in Fredericksburg, VA, on December 27, 1947, Peggy was the daughter of Lucy and the late Robert Cox. A tireless advocate for civil rights, Peggy dedicated her career to securing resources to support the programs of the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. She was honored to receive the Whitney North Seymour Award in recognition of her dedication and many years of service to the Lawyers' Committee in 1994. An avid Bob Dylan fan, Peggy was an accomplished musician, playing the guitar, piano, flute, and violin. She loved being outdoors, walking her beloved dog Max, reading, boating, spending time with friends and family, and especially life in general. She was an avid supporter of and participant in multiple sclerosis research. In addition to her husband of 43 years, Gordon, Peggy is survived by her mother Lucy; her sister Linda and her husband Chuck; her brother Robert; her sister Sue Ellen and her husband Ed; her daughter Pia and her husband Chris; her grandchildren Darwin and Dagny; her sister-in-law Darcy and her husband Kenny; her sister-in-law Beverly and her husband Ricky; several nieces and nephews; Max; and her cat, Kitty. Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by the Hurley & Ostrowski Funeral Home of St. Michaels.
