Peggy Sue Hilghman's Obituary
Peggy Sue Hilghman, age 58 of Preston, MD passed away at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Easton on August 1, 2022. Born to the late Betty Ann Cecil and Walter Edward Cecil, Sr. on February 10, 1964.
She is survived by her partner of 14 years, Charles Price of Preston, MD, daughters, Jessica Burke (Danielle) of East New Market, MD and Rachel Hilghman (Travis) of Goldsboro, MD, and her son Timothy Cecil (Shanna) of Preston, MD. She is also survived by her siblings Cindy Dement (Jerry), Laura Lewis (Frank), Tammy Sculley (Fred), and Rick Cecil (Cindy), grandchildren Marleigh Saia and Parker Vick of Goldsboro, MD, Wyatt Burke of East New Market, MD, and Tatum and Aurora Cecil of Preston, MD, several nieces and nephews, step grandchildren MacKenzie Phillips, Cole and Jaxson Dickerson, and many lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Walter Edward Cecil, Jr.
Peggy was well known by many for her time working at Shell Stop, then Peggy dedicated her time to assisting those who needed her most with her work at Peak Healthcare. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and her partner, Charlie and Princess the Dog.
Peggy faced many obstacles in this life, and with her strength and determination, she was always able to overcome and would push through and fight. Nothing demonstrated that more than her strength throughout her battle with kidney disease, and her determination to keep going for her family.
A memorial service will be held at Bethlehem Wesleyan Church on Saturday, August 6th, 2022 at 11am with Pastor Ken Clendaniel officiating. A small reception will follow immediately after the service.
