Phil B Johnson's Obituary
Phil B. Johnson, beloved husband, uncle, brother and brother-in-law, passed away peacefully at his home in Hurlock, Maryland under the care of hospice on Saturday, December 14, 2024. He was 73 years old.
Born in Somerset, Kentucky on September 6, 1951, Phil was the son of Dorothy (Malone) Stewart and his step-father James Stewart. His grandmother "Muba" and his Aunt Audrey played a large part in his formative years and she loved to spoil Phil.
Phil moved to the Eastern Shore when he was in the eleventh grade and following high school he joined the Army. On May 22, 1971 he married the former Freda Irwin, and for most of their married life they made their home in Federalsburg. Phil worked several jobs over the years including time at Preston Trucking and later filled several roles the tire industry. In his free time Phil enjoyed his family and time outdoors fishing and crabbing.
Phil is survived by his wife Freda; his nephew Joey Murray, his nieces Briley Murray and Vaeda Murray; his sisters-in-law Karen Knox (Larry) and Lynda Satchell; his brothers-in-law Fred Irwin (Mary Jane), Ricky Irwin (Susan), Billy Irwin and Jack Irwin; his loyal and loved dogs Smokey and Peety; he is also survived by a host of other nieces and nephews.
Preceding Phil in death were his mother and step-father; his sister Pam Murray; and his sister-in-law Cindy Morris.
All services for Phil will be private and at the convenience of the family. He will be layed to rest at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery where military honors will be rendered.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that donations be sent to Framptom Funeral Home, 216 N. Main St., Federalsburg, MD to help with funeral expenses.
