Phillip Payne's Obituary
Philip E. Payne of Federalsburg, MD died Thursday, October 26, 2006 at his home. He was 74.
He was born Nov. 18, 1931 in Hurlock, MD the son of the late John Emory and Helen Phillips Payne.
He was a Hurlock High School graduate class of 1948 and was a United States Navy Veteran serving from 1951 to 1955. He worked as a mechanic millwright at E. I. DuPont Company in Seaford, retiring after 42 years of service. He enjoyed bowling in the DuPont League for many years and enjoyed playing Pinochle with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marie Donovan Payne, whom he married on Dec. 11, 1953, three children, David A. Payne, Sr. and his wife, Carol Ann, Dennis E. Payne, all of Federalsburg, Dawn P. Jester and her husband, Robert, of Choptank, a daughter-in-law Nancy Payne of PA , 10 grandchildren, Derrick E. Payne, Darrin N. Payne, Jamie Lee Payne, Angela N. Folk, Lori E. Jester, Michael A. Jester, David A. Payne, Jr., Dale R. Payne, Daniel R. Jester, and Sara A. Payne, one great-grandson, Christian D. Payne, a brother, Howard Payne of Milford, DE; five sisters, Virginia Thomas of Baltimore, Dorothy Donovan of Federalsburg, Rachel Lord and Martha Harris, both of Seaford, and Edith Schoffstall of Melbourne, FL, and many nieces and nephews. A son, Darryl E. Payne preceded him in death on May 8, 2005 as did a sister, Louise Beal.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home, P.A. with Rev. Dale Evans officiating. Interment will follow in Bloomery Cemetery in Smithville. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
