Phillip "Mack" Dockins' Obituary
Phillip Oscar Dockins, Sr., known as “Mack”, of Rhodesdale, MD, departed this life on Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at Coastal Hospice by the Lake in Salisbury, MD. He was 83.
He was born Oct. 15, 1923 in Rhodesdale, MD, the son of the late Samuel and Lilly Farrare Dockins.
He was reared in Dorchester County where he received his public school education.He served his country in the United States Army and had worked in construction. He attended New Testament Church in Vienna, loved to garden, and was a great family man who was devoted to his family.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nona Dennis Dockins, six children, Joyce Dennis Ralph Dockins,and Phillip Dockins, Jr. all of Salisbury, Robert Dockins of California, Rose Fosque and Lilly Ballard, both of Salisbury, MD; twelve grandchildren, a grandchild he raised as his own, Dawonda Flags, of Salisbury, and a host of great-grandchildren nieces, nephews, and two sisters-in-law, Lula Woolford of Christ Rock, and Emily Jackson of Vienna. He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother, Ida Jenkins, Mildred Dockins and Joseph Dockins.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 27, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Rev. Clarence Jackson officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Beulah. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
