Phyllis B. Carroll's Obituary
Easton, Phyllis Brooks Carroll passed away peacefully on October 20, 2022 at Talbot Hospice House with her family by her side. She was 85.
Born on August 6, 1937 in Talbot County, she was the daughter of the late John O. and Harriet S. Brooks Sr. Phyllis was a 1955 graduate of Easton High School. Shortly after High school she began her career at Liberty Bank, on Dover Street in Easton. Phyllis continued her career in Banking for nearly 47 years, where she retired with Centreville National Bank,
On April 12, 1958 Phyllis married George L. Carroll Jr, at St. Marks United Methodist Church, Junior and Phyllis went on to have two sons; Kevin Brooks Carroll and George Bruce Carroll.
Phyllis enjoyed traveling which included reaching her goal of visiting all 50 states, she also enjoyed taking cruises, visiting the casino, playing Bingo and having friends over for card games. During the holidays you could find her making her famous fudge and apple sauce cakes. If you expected to receive fudge the following year, you had better have returned her tin! Phyllis also loved spending time with her grandchildren and Great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son; Kevin Brooks Carroll and her sister; Virginia "Ginny" Davis.
Phyllis is survived by her husband of 64 years; George L. Junior" Carroll, Jr. a son; George Bruce Carroll (Tammie), grandson's; George Bruce Carroll, Jr (Kristie), Kevin Edward Carroll (Joseph), 4 Great grandchildren; Avery, Grayson, Emmett, and Trevor, a brother; John O. Brooks, Jr. (Sherrill), A Brother in law; Norman L. Davis.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Talbot Hospice House for their exceptional care and compassion, in addition to the individuals who provided care in her home over the past 8 years.
A visitation will be held at St. Marks United Methodist Church 100 Peachblossom Road on Tuesday, October 25th from 6-8PM
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00AM at St Marks where friends may visit an hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in New Spring Hill Cemetery Easton.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Marks U.M.C. 100 Peachblossom Rd. Easton, MD. 21601, or Talbot Hospice Foundation 586 Cynwood Drive, Easton, MD. 21601.
