Purnell Sampson's Obituary
Purnell Sampson of Hurlock, died on Sunday, June 11, 2006 at Dorchester General Hospital in Cambridge, Maryland. He was 77.
He was born on July 26, 1928 in Thompsontown, Dorchester County, Maryland the son of the late John L. Sampson and Edna Jones Sampson.
On January 28, 1955 he was married to Martha Cornish. He was employed by the former Acme Cannery of Hurlock and later was a security guard for R.J. Reynolds. He attended the National Church of God near Hurlock. He enjoyed riding, watching ball games and sending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Cornish Sampson of Hurlock, MD, one daughter, Shirl Sampson of Hurlock, MD, one brother, Wilbur Sampson of Hurlock, MD and two sisters, Catherine Jolley of Hurlock, MD, and Corina Rhodes of Denver, CO and one grand daughter, Shakia Fields of Hurlock, MD.
A funeral service is planned for Saturday, June 17, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the National Church of God at Lord’s Crossing near Hurlock with the Elder William Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Thompsontown Cemetery. Friends may call the church from 11:00-1:00 on Saturday.
