Ray Thomas Oneal, Sr.'s Obituary
Ray Thomas O'Neal, Sr. of Blades, DE passed away April 8, 2023 at the age of 76.
Ray was born May 24, 1946 in Milford, DE to the late Walter and Virginia Harris O'Neal and was a long time resident of Seaford, DE.
After graduating from Seaford High School in 1966, Ray served his country and joined the United States Navy where he worked as a boiler technician on the USS Little Rock. Following his departure from the United States Navy, Ray settled in Blades and worked for C.W. Wright as a lineman. Ray then became a truck driver for National Freight in Vineland, NJ. Ray was a hard worker, but due to health reasons, he took an early retirement.
Ray is survived by two sons: Ray T. O'Neal, Jr. of Lincoln, DE. and Scott D. O'Neal of Chesapeake, VA; a brother: Harry R. O'Neal of Chesapeake, VA.; a sister: Darlene Legates and her husband Robert of Harrington, DE.; and five grandchildren: Dustin, River, Holden, Emily, Amanda and Ashley.
In addition to his parents, Ray is preceded in death by two daughters: Sherri Hassett and Virginia O'Neal; and two grandchildren: Ray O'Neal III and Rae Tiffany.
Services for Ray will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Framptom Funeral Home - Fleischauer Chapel in Greenwood, DE. The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 11:00. Burial will follow at St. Johnstown Cemetery.
