Raymond Medford Breeding's Obituary
Raymond Medford Breeding of Federalsburg, MD passed away on Friday, June 13, 2014
at UMSMC at Easton. He was 86.
He was born Sept. 12, 1927 in Hickman, Caroline Co., MD the son of the late Fred and Hazel Drummond Breeding.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in World War II in which he received the World War II Victory Medal. He retired after 45 years of faithful service as a button cutter and then manager of the former Schwanda Button Factory in Denton. He was a wonderful carpenter and his first project was building the family home. He took special pride in his garden which fed his entire family and the neighborhood.
He is survived his wife of 64 years, Dorothy M. Cooper Breeding, whom he married on July 9, 1949, five children, Francis Breeding (Toni) of Queen Anne, Phyllis Frase (Carl) of Preston, Kathy Dill (Darrell) of Hurlock, Debra Lawler (Larry) of Preston, and Janet Todd (Justin) of Federalsburg; 6 grandchildren, Kristy Marshall, Jill Ostermann, Lindsey Breeding, Michael Lawler, Jeffrey Dill, and Dylan Wheatley, 5 great-grandchildren, Hunter Marshall, Austyn Ostermann, Ryleigh Breeding, Avery Ostermann, Aubreigh Minion, 4 siblings, Esther Cluley of Federalsburg, Louise Meredith of Seaford, Richard “Leroy” Breeding of Federalsburg and John Breeding of Laurel, DE, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Harold Breeding, Gilbert Breeding and Phillip Breeding.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Framptom Funeral Home with Rev. Denzil Cheek officiating. A visitation will be held from 12-2 p.m. on Saturday. Interment will follow at Concord Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association c/o Christy Coale, 216 North Main Street, Federalsburg, MD 21632.
