Raymond Benoni Butler's Obituary
Raymond Benoni Butler of Harmony, MD passed away on Friday, December 7, 2007 at Caroline Home for Hospice in Denton. He was 86.
He was born on October 26, 1921 in Easton, Maryland son of the late Floyd Sheldon Butler and Edith Bell Chaplain Butler.
He entered the National Guard and continued his military service in the United States Army during World War II. He was awarded the Purple Heart Medal, Bronze Star Medal, and the American Defense Service Medal. He worked in construction and was previously employed by Norris Taylor in Easton. He was also a dairy farmer. He was a charter member of the Easton V.F.W. Post #5188. He also enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by two sons, Raymond P. Butler and his wife, Jackie of Denton, Jerry Butler and his wife, Beth of Harmony, a step-son, Addison P. Andrew of Easton, five grandchildren, Michelle Butler, Ray Butler, Jr., Brad Butler, Nicolle Butler, and Lee Butler, four great-grandchildren, Allan Blesssing, Kaitlin Butler, Madison Butler, and Jacob Butler, an aunt, Alice Bradshaw of Annapolis, a brother, Floyd Butler, Jr. of Chester, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five siblings, John Earl Butler, Alice Butler Collier, James Butler, Robert Butler, and Jennie Lavre.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at 1 p.m. at Framptom Funeral Home, PA with Rev. Howard “Buddy” Dunn officiating. Interment will follow at Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock with military honors. Friends may call at the funeral home on from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m on Wednesday.
