R. Dale Darling's Obituary
Richard Dale Darling of Henderson, MD died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006 at Ridgely, MD. He was 58.
He was born Sept. 3, 1948 in Federalsburg, the son of Beatrice Williamson Darling Callahan of Goldsboro, MD, and the late Robert Charles Darling, Sr. who preceded him in death on Sept. 20, 1985.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran, and was a waterman. He had worked as a cook on a tugboat in Chester, PA and enjoyed fishing and crabbing.
Besides his mother, Beatrice Callahan, he is survived by 2 daughters, Dale Ann Dill of Ellendale, DE and Christy Lynn Darling Dobies of Felton, a son, D. J. Rowe of Laurel, DE, 2 siblings, Lacy Edward Lynch and Cole Blackwell, both of Ocean City, MD, 5 grandchildren, Randy Lee Clarkson, Megan Anne Darling, Michael Robert Dobies, Taylor Marie Dobies, and Brianna Lynn Dobies, and several close nieces, nephews, and many watermen friends. A son, Robert "Bob" Darling preceded him in death on Oct. 3, 2000 and a brother, Robert Charles "Sonny" Darling, Jr. preceded him in death in Nov. 1976.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 6, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Federalsburg. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m
