Rebecca Bramble's Obituary
Rebecca J. Bramble, C.R.N.A., of Easton, MD passed away on Monday, November 12, 2007 at The Pines Genesis HealthCare in Easton. She was 91 years old.
She was born July 4, 1916 in Eldorado, Dorchester Co., MD, the daughter of the late William Clarence Bramble and Audrey Wilson Bramble Truitt
Miss Bramble was a post graduate of Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD, and was also a graduate of Anesthetist of the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where she was a student under Dr. John S. Lundy, dean of anesthesia at the Mayo Clinic. Upon this graduation she was awarded a Travel Scholarship to Europe in anesthesia and then returned to the Mayo Clinic where she spent twenty years on the staff. She was anesthetist for Dr. Waltman Walters and Dr. Charles Mayo. She also served as anesthetist on the staff of the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma. She also studied art for four years while there. She also spent four years as anesthetist for Albuquerque, New Mexico Medical Center in Clovis, NM, where she retired in anesthesia in 1982. She was a member of American Anesthetist Association from 1951
until 1982 and retired in high standing.
In 1956 Miss Bramble became a world traveler. She was an accomplished artist with a number of copyright paintings to her credit. She was a member of Congregational Church, Rochester, Minnesota.
She is survived by one sister, Peggy Williamson and her husband, Lee, of Seaford, DE, one brother, William Bramble and his wife, Celia, of Panama City Beach, FL, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Bramble, and a sister Ruth Bramble Hardaway.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 16, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home, P. A. in Federalsburg, MD with Rev. Denzil Cheek officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot in Eldorado Cemetery, Eldorado, MD. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
