R. Gary Ruff's Obituary
Robert Gary Ruff of Federalsburg, MD passed away on Monday, Nov. 29, 2010 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, DE. He was 58.
He was born Oct. 2, 1952 in Milford, DE, the son of the late Robert Lee Ruff and Faye Bramble Ruff.
Gary was a graduate of Colonel Richardson High School Class of 1970 and had attended Chesapeake College. He was a self-employed brick mason. He enjoyed Indian artifacts and archaeology and had served as past president of the Mid-Shore Archaeological Society. He played the drums and bass in local bands. He was a member of the National Wild Turkey Association and the Salt Water Anglers Assoc. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah McMahan Ruff whom he married on April 16, 1977, two sons Robert Ethan Ruff (Jessica Heppding) of Preston, and Colin Nathaniel Ruff (Kathryn Haas) of Federalsburg, 3 grandchildren Zoe Elizabeth Ruff, Leavie Corinne Ruff, and Mason Willey, a sister Kele Ruff Turner (Alan) of Federalsburg, and a brother Glen Ruff (Claudia) of Seaford, six nieces and nephews, Keith A. Turner, Shelli Turner Blake, Taylor Ruff, Sydney Ruff, Melissa DeGroat and Jennifer DeGroat. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by an infant brother Todd Andrew Ruff.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the
Framptom Funeral Home with Rev. Denzil Cheek officiating. Interment will follow in Riverton Cemetery, Riverton, MD. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:00 -1:00 p.m.
The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to the funeral home to defray funeral costs.
