Richard Newnam Roe's Obituary
St. Michaels, Richard N. Roe, Sr. of St. Michaels died at Talbot Hospice, Easton on Saturday December 16, 2023. He was 70.
Born on April 11, 1953 in Easton, he was the son of the late Norman M. and Virginia "Lee-Lee" Newnam Roe. Ricky attended Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School and St. Michaels High School, graduating in 1971. After graduating, he began a lifelong career of working on the water in various capacities. As a commercial waterman, he spent many years catching clams, crabs, and oysters. He built his first boat with his father in 1974 and built his second boat in 1985. After numerous requests for custom built boats, he left the water in 1998 to pursue boat building full time. Ricky was highly sought after for both the design and quality of his vessels. Ricky married his High School sweetheart, the former Kimberly Cummings on August 2, 1974. After retiring, he and Kim spent their winters in Florida, until he could no longer travel due to health reasons.
Ricky loved spending time with his family and enjoyed anything to do with the water.

Roe, Jr. (Jaren); two granddaughters, Katie (Jason) and Lilly; brother-in-law, Mark Cummings (Kathy) and their family; and a very special cousin, Larry Roe, as well as many other family and friends.
