Richard G. Bauer, Sr.'s Obituary
Richard G. Bauer of Federalsburg, MD passed away on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008 at
Dorchester General Hospital in Cambridge, MD.
Born Nov. 21, 1934 in Baltimore, MD, he had just celebrated his 74th birthday. He was the son of the late Earl and Mildred Hellmen Bauer.
He was an avid hunter all his life and he enjoyed farming in Carmichael and on his farm near Federalsburg. He was a truck driver for various trucking companies in Baltimore. He was a member of the Men’s Auxiliary of the VFW Post 5246 in Federalsburg, and also a member of the Moose Lodge in Grasonville.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Rebecca L. Biery Bauer whom he married on Aug. 20, 1971, a daughter, Jennifer Bauer-Chafin and her husband, Joseph, a son Matthew E. Bauer, all of Federalsburg, 2 stepsons, C. Benjamin Fluharty, Jr. of Trappe, and Christopher L. Fluharty and his wife, Sarah, of Michigan; 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers and 2 sisters all of Baltimore. He was preceded in death by 4 children, Richard G. Bauer, Jr., F. John Bauer, Sr., Thomas D. Bauer and Jaclyn J. Bauer, and a brother, Frederick Bauer.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 28, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home with Chaplain Frankie Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in Oxford Cemetery, Oxford, MD. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
