Robert A. Corwin's Obituary
Robert Asbury Corwin went to his eternal rest on November 8, 2014, at the age of 92.
He was born June 29, 1922 in San Francisco, CA, the son of the late George Asbury Corwin and Gertrude C. Mason Corwin.
He was a Navy veteran of WWII where he served in the Armed Guard as a Radioman 2/C on merchant ships all over the world including the deadly Murmansk Run taking supplies to Russia. During his “retirement” he worked at Ruggs Music Shop in Seaford, was a radio DJ in Easton, aka “Big Band Bob”, and assisted with the Federalsburg Senior Center.
An avid Ham Radio operator, he enjoyed talking to people all over the world from his radio shack. He was a lifelong drummer playing with different groups throughout the years; his last on stage event was at the age of 90. He was a member of the Federalsburg VFW Post 5246, and an active member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary right up to the day of his passing. He received many commendations for voluntary hours contributed with boat safety inspections and his communications work.
He is survived by his daughter Lorna L. Thomason (Terry), a son Kevin R. Corwin (Joe-Anne), three grandchildren Joseph E. Rains, Justin Corwin Rains (Bridget), Max A. Corwin (Kate), two great-grandchildren, Avery and
