Robert F Jester's Obituary
Robert Francis Jester of Choptank, MD, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018 unexpectedly at the age of 58 surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born on March 11, 1960 in Easton, MD, he was the son of the late James Thomas Jester and Joyce Alvina Monath Jester.
He graduated from Colonel Richardson High School in 1978 and later graduated from University of Maryland Eastern Shore in 1982. He taught at Colonel Richardson High School for 27 years before becoming the Supervisor of Transportation on July 1, 2008. He married the love of his life Dawn Marie Payne on June 12, 1982.
He was a member of The Boy Scouts of America troop 461 since 1971 and became one of the first Eagle Scouts of the troop in 1973. He was a member of the Junior Order of United American Mechanics where he was President of Junior Order Cemetery, Chapter 43, and was the past State Councilor and a member of Caroline County Planning and Zoning for 20 years.
He enjoyed helping others, projects around the house, going to Sunday breakfast, hunting, fishing, crabbing, school buses, taking boat rides and most of all spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Dawn, his children, Lori Childers (Richard), Michael Jester (Rebecca), and Daniel Jester (Jordan), his grandchildren, Reagan and Noah, his brothers, Russell Jester and Earl Jester Sr., and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 12pm at Colonel Richardson High School with Reverend Denzil Cheek. Friends may call on the family on Friday, April 13, from 6-8pm or on Saturday before the start of the service from 10am-12pm. Interment will be held at Belmont Cemetery following the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that everyone make donations to The Boy Scouts of America, Troop 461 in Preston, MD, P.O. Box 493 Preston, MD 21655. Please make checks payable to Boy Scout Troop 461.
