Robert Rieck's Obituary
Robert Emil Rieck of Preston, Maryland went to his eternal home on Friday, January 11th at his home in Preston. He was 95.
He was born on March 23, 1923 in Preston, Maryland, the son of the late Emil William Rieck and Emma Gadow Rieck.
He was married on August 23, 1946 to the love of his life, Roselle Corkran and they celebrated 71 years of marriage. She preceded him in death on March 28, 2018.
Growing up on the family farm, Robert continued working his fields and raised chickens. After his retirement, he worked for the Wilson Family and Preston Automotive Group. He loved tending to his garden, and enjoyed sharing the bounty with his family and friends. He also enjoyed crabbing and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a devoted life-long member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Preston. He was loved by all who knew him.
He is survived by three children: Robert W. Rieck of Denton, Sharlene Rieck-Steere of Hebron, and Melissa Rieck-Phillips of Preston, three grandchildren, Whitney Steere, Wyatt Steere, and Robert Phillips, III, and one brother, Leonard Rieck of Easton; and his loving care takers, Rochelle Smith, Betty Hood, Teresa Horn, Karen Hudkins and Doodie Davis.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Rieck, and Alvin Rieck; and a sister Emaline Hammond.
Funeral services will be on Friday, January 18, 2019 at 11:00 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Preston. Interment will follow at Junior Order Cemetery in Preston. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
