Robert Louis Vogel, Sr's Obituary
Robert Louis Vogel, Sr. of Harrington, DE passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 following at Bay Health Sussex in Milford, DE following an extended illness. He was 77 years old.
Born December 23, 1947 in Baltimore, MD, Bob was the son of Louis and Regina (Adams) Vogel. He grew up on the Western Shore and graduated from Severna Park High School. Following graduation Bob enlisted in the US Navy. He spent the majority of his enlistment serving with honor and courage in the Viet Nam Theater. Due to his time in the service he suffered from several health complications as a result of exposure to Agent Orange. After the war Bob returned to civilian life and went to work. He retired from the Maryland State Highway Administration as concrete technician.
Bob married Mary Anne Vogel in June of 1988. Together they were members of Park Lane Church of God in Federalsburg and Soul's Harbor Church in Cambridge, MD. At Park Lane, Bob was instrumental in the bus ministry. They also worshipped at Lifeway Church of God in Bridgeville, DE where Bob served as the facilities manager. Most recently Bob and Mary Anne attended Atlanta Road Alliance Church in Seaford.
In his free time Bob was an active member and past officer in the Christian Motorcycle Association: Chesapeake Christian Riders Chapter. As a proud Viet Nam Veteran he also took part in Rolling Thunder which was an annual motorcycle rally in Washington, DC to advocate for MIAs and POWs from Viet Nam. At that event he annually served water to participants and would minister to fellow veterans who were visiting the Viet Nam Wall Memorial.
Left to mourn Bob are his wife Mary Anne; his sons Robert Vogel, Jr and Jason Vogel; his daughter Deanna Roslan; his grandchildren Tanya Hill, Ally Schuchmann , Chloe Vogel and Laine Vogel; his great-grandchildren Raelynn Hill and Amethyst Yargeau; and his siblings Betty Lobe, Edward Vogel, Charlene Vogel and Jo Ann Pinkham.
He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Regina Vogel.
A funeral service will be held at Lifeway Church of God, Bridgeville, DE on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 starting at 12pm. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the start of the service. Burial will follow at 2pm at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock, MD.
