Robert Worm's Obituary
On June 24, 2026, our beloved Robert Carl Worm of Preston peacefully passed away, finally together again with his beloved wife, Debbie Waldis, after nearly seven years apart. Born on December 2, 1964, in Easton, MD, to the late James Worm, Sr. and Roberta Williams Worm, Robert made his mark on the world as a devoted father, grandfather, farmer, and friend. He was born with a natural love for farming and wasn't afraid to stir up a little trouble in his younger years. A proud graduate of Colonel Richardson High School in 1982, he continued to farm alongside his father and brother on the family farm, Worm Brothers. In 1983, Robert married the love of his life, Debbie, at the Christ Church in Federalsburg.
Together, they built a home at the corner of Bell Creek and Hog Creek Road, where they raised three beautiful daughters, Katie, Nichole, and Lindsay. As a family, they built a legacy focused on love, laughter, and invaluable memories. In 2005, Robert later took a leap of faith to establish "Breezeway Farms", where he grew grains, a variety of produce, and most famously watermelons.
Robert's greatest joy was his family. He was always there for his daughters and grandchildren, whether it was celebrating their accomplishments, sharing a laugh, or reminiscing about all the good memories they shared as a family. Although some heard his famous stories more than once, somehow, he always made it worth hearing again. If he wasn't with his girls, odds were he was sitting down with his in-laws, Jack and Delores, to share a home cooked meal. Good food and good company were two of his favorite things. Although Robert seemed to have a tough exterior, those who know him understood he was a very sentimental man. His wife Debbie and his girls knew this best and will always remember him for the heartfelt notes he left for them.
As his family prepares to honor his memory, they invite all who knew him to celebrate his life.
Robert is survived by his daughters: Lindsey Worm, Nichole Cheezum (Bryan), and Katie Frase (Drew); his grandchildren Olivia, Jase, Brooklyn, Ellie and Jack; his father and mother-in-law Jack and Delores Waldis; and his sister Tina-Marie Brown (Danny) and brother J.T. Worm (Shelly).
In addition to his loving wife Debbie, he is preceded in death by his parents, James and Roberta Worm, and brother-in-law, Danny Brown.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at 11:00 at Christ Church in Federalsburg. The family will receive friends starting at 10:00. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Robert's memory to Caroline County FFA Chapter (Checks Payable to Caroline County Career & Technology Center, 10855 Central Ave., Ridgley, MD 21660, FFA Donation in memo).
Robert Worm will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever shine through the love and stories that bind his family together. His girls find comfort in knowing their parents have finally been reunited.
