Roland E. Dean's Obituary
Roland E. Dean, Sr. of Bridgeville, DE passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021 at Tidal Health at Nanticoke Hospital in Seaford, DE. He was 78.
He was born on May 31, 1943 in Bridgeville, DE, the son of the late Elmer Dean and Edna Green Dean.
He worked as a maintenance mechanic and was a poultry farmer. He loved to tinker in his garage and could fix anything. In his free time, he loved to go fishing and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Dorothy Billings Dean of Bridgeville, two children: Roland E. Dean, Jr. and his wife Sandra and Christina Walters and her husband Michael all of Millsboro, four grandchildren: Crystal Walters, Ashley Justice, Amanda Dean, and Brooke Dean; two great grandchildren: Taevon Bailey and Zyanna Bailey; and two siblings: Raymond Dean of Farmington and Rosalie Hignutt of North Carolina.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 12 other siblings.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 29, 2021 at 12:00 Noon at at Bethel Worship Center, 26648 Sussex Highway in Seaford, DE with Pastor Joe LeCates officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 12:00 prior to the start of the service.
