Roland William Jenkins Sr's Obituary
Roland William Jenkins, Sr., known fondly as “Billy” passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at UMSMC at Easton. He was 69.
He was born on July 24, 1947 in Dorchester County, Maryland, the son of the late Roland Jenkins and Ernestine Fletcher Jenkins.
He graduated from Colonel Richardson High School with the class of 1965. Billy enjoyed playing basketball in high school and loved the game of football with his favorite team being the Miami Dolphins. He attended culinary school and enjoyed cooking. His past employments include: Acme Foods, General Foods, and Continental Can. One of his greatest attributes was being a wonderful dad.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Jenkins, four children, LaVonne Jones of Greenwood, DE, Roland Brummell of Federalsburg, Courtland Brummell of Cambridge, Gabriela Jenkins of Elwood, and three kids he raised as his own, Annette Brummell of Denton, Darryl Brummell of Cambridge, Marvin Jenkins of Columbia, nine grandchildren, four sisters, Norma Jenkins, Mary Jane Frazier, Viola Jenkins, all of Laurel, DE, Beverly Jenkins of Cambridge, an aunt, Melva Hill of Seaford, a close friend, Kathy, two friends who were more like brothers, John Quailes of Concord, DE, Calvin Leek, Sr. of Preston, and a host of nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Malcolm Taylor Jenkins.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 12, 2016 at 7 p.m. at Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with a visitation from 5-7 p.m.
