Rose Evelyn Wheatley's Obituary
Rose Evelyn Wheatley, formerly of Reliance, MD, passed away on her birthday, April 16, 2012 at the Enovy of Denton. She was 93.
She was born April 16, 1919 in Cambridge, MD, the daughter of the late Gorman and Grace Hopkins Moore Slacum. Her husband, Arthur Wheatley preceded her in death on Nov. 26, 1990.
She was a graduate of the Federalsburg High School, and had worked at the former Excelsior Pearl Works and was a private caregiver. She was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church near Seaford, DE.
Rose is survived by a brother Eugene Slacum of Dover, DE and a sister Emily S. Johnson of Bridgeville, DE, several nieces and nephews. A brother Leon Gorman "Buck" Slacum preceded her in death.
Graveside services will be held at East New Market Cemetery on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at 1:oo with Rev. Dan Walker officiating.
