Roslyn A. Ryan's Obituary
Roslyn was a mathematics teacher at Seaford Senior High School where she was department chairperson and taught for 22 years, retiring in 2000. She was recognized in 1989 as Seaford’s Teacher of the Year. Roslyn was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. She relocated to Seaford in 1960. She received her undergraduate degree from Our Lady of Cincinnati College and graduate degrees from Salisbury University, University of Delaware and Wilmington College. Roslyn was very active in many things. National and Delaware Councils of Teachers of Math, Our Lady of Lourdes Church where she taught and coordinated the religious education program for 11 years as well as very active in Pastoral Ministry. Roslyn was also class advisor and yearbook advisor at Seaford Senior High School. She was also fixture at the information desk at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital. She volunteered over 15,000 hours, which she was very proud of. Her hobbies included anything involving her children, many road trips over the summer for numerous golf tournaments, swimming, baseball and scouting adventures. Her favorite hobby was tennis. She played as much as she could any time of the year.
Roslyn was proudest of her children and grandchildren, they were her greatest accomplishments. She was the strongest person her family knew and was always there for them and everyone else. She is survived by her sons, Mark and wife Dawn, Mike and wife Brenda, daughter Cathy and husband Jeff Johnson. Her grandchildren, Adam and Jacob Ryan, Matthew, Nicholas and Emily Johnson. Granddogs, Brooks and Casey, Peyton and Andi. She is also survived by her brothers Norb Rombach and Bill Rahill and wife Gladys. She is also survived by several nephews and many, many close friends that will deeply miss her. She was preceeded in death by her parents, Anthony and Adele Rombach, her step-mother, Angela Rombach, and sister-in-law Alice Rombach.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes in Seaford, DE on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 2pm with a visitation from 1-2pm prior to the start of mass.
