Roy Bell's Obituary
Roy Edward Bell passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, March 24, 2017. He was 72.
He was born on November 22, 1944 in Cambridge, the son of the late Merritt Bell and Lillian Haglund Bell.
Roy graduated from North Dorchester High School with the class of 1963. He faithfully worked for thirty years for E.I. DuPont in Seaford and retired at the age of 49. He was a true outdoorsman and loved to hunt and do gardening around his home. Other hobbies included farming, bowling, working on cars in his garage, dancing at the Seaford Moose, and eating out.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah A. Bell, three children, Curtis E. Bell (Maggie) of Seaford, David S. Bell (Shirley) of Edgewood, MD, and Cynthia A. Williams (Chris) of Seaford, two step-children, Brian C. Taylor of Cambridge, Carrie B. Rhem (Charles) of Charlotte, NC, five grandchildren, Nicole L. Hastings, April E. Gerstner, Stephanie A. Williams, Zachary R. Bell, Shelby N. Williams, three step grandchildren, Cayla M. Rhem, Kara N. Dozier, Jayden C. Taylor, four siblings, Norman Bell of Cambridge, Bonnie Willey of Bethel, Robert Bell of Delmar, Nancy Harrold of Seaford, and a host of friends and other family members. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Bell.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Harvest Christian Church in Seaford with Chaplain Troy Dennis and Pastor Tom Birowski officating. Interment will be private. Following the service the family invites you to Harvest Christian Fellowship Hall for a time of food and fellowship and request each family to bring a covered dish.
