Roy E. Judy's Obituary
Roy Ellis Judy, Jr of Greenwood, DE passed away on Wednesday, January 10,2024 at his home surrounded by family. He was 94.
Born in Milford, DE on September 24, 1929, Roy was the son of the late Roy Ellis Judy, Sr and Lelia Fike Judy. He was married for 57 years to Jean Dixon Judy who preceded him in death on February 19, 2008.
Roy led an exemplary life of serving others. He pastored with the Church of the Brethren for more than 40 years, serving churches in Farmington, DE and Ridgely, MD prior to his retirement. Most of his life he was a crop farmer and described his favorite and best crop as his children. God and his family were always his first priority. He also enjoyed crafting gourds from his garden and cheering on the Baltimore Orioles.
Roy is survived by five children: Steve Judy and Virginia Seely (Mike) all of Greenwood, DE; Linda Przybyla of Eden, MD; Valerie Abbott of Cleveland, TN; and Tim Judy (Brenda) of Greenwood, DE; 21 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Taylor; his daughter-in-law, Beth Judy; and his sons-in-law, Mark Abbott and Jim Przybyla.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Roy's honor can be made to Camp Mardela, PO Box 460, Denton, MD 21629. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, January 27 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ridgely Church of the Brethren at 100 Park Avenue, Ridgely, MD.
