Roy Otis Parks' Obituary
Roy Otis Parks, formerly of Hurlock, passed away on Wed. Jan. 1, 2014 at Caroline Nursing Home in Denton. He was 82.
He was born April 9, 1931 in Bland, VA, the son of the late Lewis McKinley Parks and Verna Murell Veneable Parks.
He worked as a heavy equipment operator and was an avid hunter and angler. He loved his family.
He is survived by a brother J. Cecil Parks and his wife Betty of Federalsburg, two sisters Margaret Jean Parks and Lina Faye Beasley, both of Reliance, MD, a daughter Connie “Cricket” Moore and her husband Timothy, of Milford, DE, 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Jan. 6, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home with Rev. Peter Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Concord Cemetery near Federalsburg. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Framptom Funeral Home to defray funeral costs.
