Russell Conwell Moore's Obituary
Russell C. Moore passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, in McArthur, OH, at the age of 94. He was born on April 7, 1927, to the late Charles A. Moore and Julia F. Moore (née Blumrick), in Philadelphia, PA. He was a long-time resident of Greenwood, Delaware, where he chose to raise his family.
As an outworking of his Christian beliefs, Russell labored for about five years with the Ava tribespeople of Paraguay, S.A. He later ministered to Delaware's migrant worker and prison populations, all while sustaining his family as a trustworthy and hard-working mechanic and machinist.
He is survived by: his wife of 8 years, Jean E. Miller Moore (née Riehl); five sons: Paul C. and Peter W. Moore, of Greenwood, DE; James D. (Lodema) Moore, of Harrisonburg, VA; Daniel H. (Gloria) Moore, of Oro Valley, AZ; and David J. (Melanie) Moore, of McArthur, OH. Also surviving him are his 21 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and his large extended family (as includes, among others, his many beloved nieces & nephews).
Beside his parents, Russell was preceded in death by: his first wife, Mabel C. Moore (née Pratt), to whom he was married for 57 years; his brothers George H. and Theodore P. Moore; and his sister, F. Marie Talley (née Moore).
A viewing will be held on Friday, 25 June, from 6:00-8:00pm, at Framptom Funeral Home, Fleischauer Chapel, 16 West Market Street, Greenwood, DE. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, 26 June, at 10:30am, at the Tressler Mennonite Church, 13371 Wolf Road, Greenwood, DE, Pastor Bob Aycoth officiating. Interment will immediately follow, at the same location.
Friends may meet with the family prior to the start of the viewing and/or funeral service (entrusted to the Framptom Funeral Home); and memories may be shared with the family at www.framptom.com.
