Ruth Marie Culver's Obituary
Ruth Marie Culver of Greenwood passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Genesis The Seaford Center . She was 92.
She was born on July 11, 1931 in Ellendale, Delaware, the daughter of the late John Francis Mereider and Blanche H Savage.
She married Dallas Culver and they made their home in Laurel. He preceded her in death on June 15, 1987.
She spent much of her working career at the Former Rigbie Hotel in Laurel. Later she worked at the American Legion Post #19 in Laurel. In her free time, Ruth loved cooking, needlepoint and making clothing. She was a member of the American Legion Post #19 Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved ones.
She is survived by two sons: Benny Hollaway and his wife Sandy and Todd Culver and his wife Beth all of Georgetown; two grandchildren: Kim Layton of Bridgeville and Carli Culver of Dover, many great-grandchildren and two siblings: Josephine Myer of Bridgeville and Phyllis Anthony of Selbyville.
In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, E. Steve Pepper and a grandson Kip Hollaway and a brother Clifford Mereider.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023 at 11:00 at the Laurel Odd Fellows Cemetery in Laurel.
