Ruth D. Daffin
St. Michaels, Ruth Dyott Daffin of St. Michaels, died at Envoy of Denton, on Saturday, April 28, 2012. She was 85.
Born on February 20, 1927 in St. Michaels she was the daughter of the late Maurice C. and Anna Moulton Dyott. Mrs. Daffin was a lifelong resident of St. Michaels. She graduated from St. Michaels High School, and in 1950 married Marion B. “Dink” Daffin. Mrs. Daffin worked at various places in Talbot Co. including Harrison & Jarboe Packing Co., C&P Telephone Co., Elliott Bros Trucking Co. and her son’s business Daffin Marine, in Wittman, until her retirement.
She was a member of St. Lukes United Methodist Church, St. Michaels, and the Miles River Yacht Club Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Daffin is survived by her two children; Daniel C. “Dink” Daffin, and his wife Deborah, of St. Michaels, Paula M. Burgess and her husband Glenn of Cambridge, a niece; Juanita Acuff Webster and her husband Austin of Harmony, seven grandchildren, eleven Great-grandchildren and eight nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents, and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters; Vera J. Acuff and her husband Samuel, and Edith Dyott.
Friends may call on Tuesday May 1, 2012 at the Hurley & Ostrowski Funeral Home P.A. St. Michaels, from 6:00 to 8:00PM.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday at the Olivet Cemetery, St. Michaels.
