Ruth Anna Ratledge's Obituary
Ruth Anna "Cohee" Ratledge passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Denton Nursing and Rehab. She was 91.
She was born on June 1, 1934 in Sandtown, DE, the daughter of the late Elijah and Pauline Cohee.
She was a seamstress for ILC Dover most of her life. On December 31, 1992, she married Richard "Shorty" A. Ratledge and were together until his passing. In her free time, Ruth enjoyed Horse Racing, slots, bingo and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two children: John Wilkerson and his wife Kim of Bridgeville, and Linda English and her Husband Mike of Federalsburg; two grandchildren: Chasity Hetrick and her husband Rick of Preston, and Ashlie Hawes and her husband Alex of Georgetown; two great-grandchildren: Wesley Hetrick and his girlfriend Ava Asplen of Preston, and Jaxon Hawes of Georgetown; her "adopted" grandchild Miranda Scurti of Georgetown; step-granddaughter Patricia English and her sons AJ and Lee Massey of Hurlock; three step-children: Joan Hamstead, Mike Ratledge, Steven Ratledge and family; and many niecesand nephews, and sister-in-laws Hannah Cohee and Katrina Cohee.
In addition to her husband, Shorty, is preceded in death by her brothers: Harold Cohee, James Cohee, Harlan Cohee, Robert Cohee, Donald Cohee and Charles Cohee; her sisters: Betty Cohee, Louise Messick and Joyce Guesfeird.
A funeral service will take place Thursday, October 30, 2025 at the Framptom Funeral Home - Fleischauer Chapel in Greenwood at 12:00. Visitation will take place one hour prior at 11:00 a.m. Following the service, burial will take place at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Sandtown, DE.
