Sadie E. Ball's Obituary
Sadie Evelyn Ball of Cambridge, MD passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2006 at Chesapeake Woods in Cambridge. She was 82.
She was born March 23, 1924 in the Neck District in Dorchester Co. daughter of the late Charles Albert Hubbard and Sarah Francis Hubbard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Manley Harper Ball on June 15, 1979.
She had worked for the former Phillips Packing Co. and retired from Airpax in 1984.
She is survived by three children, Joyce Lankford and her husband, Carroll, of Federalsburg, Connie Sherman and her husband Lester, of Rhodesdale, Manley “Mickey” Ball, Jr. and his wife, Phyllis, of Salisbury, a brother, Roger Hubbard of East New Market, MD, a devoted great-granddaughter, Melissa A. Prettyman and her husband, Frankie, of Preston, eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter, a nephew she raised, Wayne Smith of Cambridge, and several other nieces and nephews. She was one of 10 children. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Peggy Brinsfield,, and a nephew she raised, William “Billy” Smith.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at 1 p.m. at Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg. Interment will follow at Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12 -1 p.m.
