Samuel Young's Obituary
Samuel "Duc" Young of Claymont DE, formerly of St. Michaels, died on Friday April 19, 2024 at the Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia. He was 63.
Born in Easton Maryland on December 23, 1960, he was the son of the late Sam Burton and Mildred Young. He graduated from St. Michaels in 1979 where he excelled in basketball and wrestling. While in High school he was a counselor at summer camp in St. Michaels. Following his graduation he attended Delaware State University, then he began working as a Supervisor/ Machine operator for Refresco in Concordville, PA.
In his spare time he loved to shoot pool, he was and avid fan of the Baltimore Ravens and Orioles. Anything to do with the water, boating crabbing, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his beloved wife Jean Sessoms Young whom he married in 1982, he is survived by a son; Devin Young both of Claymont, DE, and a host of cousins, and extended family.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at 12:00 noon at the Union United Methodist Church 201 Rail Road Ave. in St Michaels, where a viewing will be held one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in the Thomas cemetery St. Michaels.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 110 West Laurel Ave. Cheltenham, PA, 19012.
